Psychosocial Recovery Coaches

How can we support you with your recovery?

First of all, recovery is very individual and when we talk about recovery, it doesn’t mean you will no longer live with poor mental health. Recovery is going to mean something different to everyone but it will reflect reaching your own personal goals of reaching your optimal state of personal, psychosocial recovery coaches, social and emotional wellbeing.

So how does it work?

Firstly, we listen to you and get to know you.  We will help you to identify your strengths and talk to you about strategies that you might work best for you. There will be a strong focus on working together with you to help you develop your own recovery plan.  We want to help you to build your confidence to manage the times you are unwell, provide support to your families and carers, and help you to maintain your connections to mainstream and paid supports.

Some other things we may help with include:

Recovery coaches will work collaboratively with participants, their families, carers and other services to design, plan and implement a recovery plan, and assist with the coordination of NDIS and other supports. Participants will have the option of selecting a recovery coach with lived experience or a recovery coach with learnt knowledge of psychosocial disability and mental health. Recovery coaches have been developed in consultation with people with lived experience of mental health unwellness, families and carers of people with mental health unwellness, Mental Health Australia and state and territory governments.
